Technically, The River of Winged Dreams is the fourth title in the Songs of the Angelic Gaze Series by Aberjhani but only the third actual physical book. There has been some confusion surrounding the original Songs of the Angelic Gaze Series due to the fact that the original title was applied to the original work as it existed on two websites-- The Black Skylark ZPed Music Player and The Poet Seers. However, subsequent titles, The Bridge of Silver Wings and The Bridge of Silver Wings 2009, were published in traditional and eBook formats.
The series itself has been defined as an evolution of the first volume, which some have argued makes it a single book rather than a true series. Going by that description, The River of Winged Dreams would have to be considered the author s fourth volume of poetry published since 1998. The achievement is one that more and more critics have started to note.
Each volume in the Songs of the Angelic Gaze Series has been distinguished by the addition of a substantial amount of new writings. The paperback and hardback editions of The River of Winged Dreams have both continued that particular tradition. Both begin with a new foreword titled Evolution of a Vision: from Songs of the Angelic Gaze to The River of Winged Dreams. Both also contain new poems that commemorate the life and death of Michael Jackson; examine the historic impact of President Barack Obama s legacy in progress; and celebrate the thriving culture of jazz and art in the city of Savannah, Georgia.
